This is my very first paddle in a kayak. Ventured out to Penguin and Seal Islands. Very niave and not completely prepared. Saw some Sea Lions though! Photos of my very first kayak, just after I picked it up. It looks ok, but is actually in a sad state.
It required new deck bungee, new rear hatch, new aft hatch strap, new fore and aft handles and the rudder straightened. Delved into the trails around Jarrahdale again today. Touched on some Munda Biddi trail that I had not yet ridden. A nice 49km circuit.
The Munda Biddi Trail is an off-road cycling trail in Western Australia, running for over 1000 km from Mundaring to Albany - the longest track of its kind in the world. I hope to ride its full length later in the year, but on this ride, I left from Jarrahdale and followed a route that I mapped out, which would take me to part of the Munda Biddi trail, that I could follow back into Jarrahdale. I am fortunate enough to work on a beautiful island, just off the coast of Rockingham. That island is Garden Island. This is a couple photos from one of my lunch time rides. |
Head HomeAuthorHi, I’m Mark McIntosh — though most people just call me Macr. This blog is where I share my adventures, both big and small, through stories, photographs and now videos. Whether it’s on two wheels, four, or on foot, it’s a place to document the journeys and moments that make exploring worthwhile. For my more serious photography work, you’ll also find me over on Flickr. Archives
