Jeremy Guerin and I had a plan and that was to ride to Wee Jasper and back over the Australia Day long weekend. I mapped the ride the ride out and back via different routes, so we could see different sites.
The ride out ended up being very hot and in the end I suffered some heatstroke. Although I made it to Wee Jasper (84kms all up), I was fairly dehydrated. Unfortunately I was still pretty dehydrated the next morning and elected not to ride back and was rescued by my wife. Ride map to Wee Jasper. Caveat: I tried for weeks to get the legal status of Horeshoe Rd and the crossing of the Murrumbidgee River. It was not until after I had completed the ride that Yass Council, said the road had been handed over to the locals and was no longer a council maintained or gazetted road. Below are the photos from the trip.

I had organised a group exploration ride in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and finished off with a BBQ and a few beers.
There were two groups on the day. Riders and BBQers. A couple from the ride lined up for both. |
Head HomeAuthorHi, I’m Mark McIntosh — though most people just call me Macr. This blog is where I share my adventures, both big and small, through stories, photographs and now videos. Whether it’s on two wheels, four, or on foot, it’s a place to document the journeys and moments that make exploring worthwhile. For my more serious photography work, you’ll also find me over on Flickr. Archives
