I recently had surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on my right hand, and today is my last day of sick leave. My stitches are scheduled to come out on Monday.
Today felt like as good a day as any to test out my hand and see if the surgery has done its job. I’m happy to report that it’s worked quite well—I still can’t grip small items like a knife comfortably, but I can handle the throttle on my bike. I decided to ride up to Mt. Coree, a trail I’ve driven once years ago but never tackled on a motorbike. It’s the steepest trail I’ve ridden so far. I misjudged one corner and ended up on a slight embankment, but otherwise, everything went smoothly. The Brindabellas were as busy as Pitt St for adventure bikes, and I shared the summit with some of the ACT Adventure Riders. Then, as I reached the bottom, I ran into even more of them. Ride Map
